House of Health

The project of a new House of Health starts from a huge urban space in

which there are 10 pre-existing buildings, including former health

buildings, recreation centers, churches, etc.

The project consists in taking into consideration only one of the existing

buildings to create the new House of Health in Piacenza, and in taking

care of the common areas of the entire block, trying to harmonize the

various locations through paths, outdoor areas and common spaces they

will go to make up the new rehabilitation center of the city.

A Masterplan was defined which includes all the buildings in the project

area and the creation of new outdoor common areas. 

For the construction of the House of Health, the building to the 

south-east of the complex was defined, which interfaces with the urban

greenery already present around it, and with the entrance building on the

south side.

The building is quite isolated from the built-up block within the project

area; it was also one of the few to have been less affected during the

renovation.

Inside the House of Health there are surgeries, research laboratories,

clinics, data available for patients on the first floor, while on the ground

floor there are large spaces for socializing, where there are more

common areas for leisure and reading.

It is not just a place where patients are treated, but an entire therapeutic

space that encourages and stimulates the conviviality of people within

the place.

The outdoor common areas have been designed as places open both to

the public and to people who use the Hose of Health.

There are several entrances that allow entry from several areas of the

complex. There are countless study areas and sports fields: the main

ones are located right at the entrance to the health house, which on the

other side opens towards a park that favors rehabilitation thanks to its

numerous beneficial plants.
